ICON Certification
Those who meet the standards necessary for safe operation will qualify for ICON Certification.
As well as qualifying for the highest level of ICON Certification, those who implement the ICON programme in its entirety can expect significant business benefits.
ICON Certification supports quality performance within a transport fleet at three levels as follows:
Bronze Certification
The ICON operator must be able to demonstrate that:
- “Proper arrangements” for full compliance with ‘O’ Licence undertakings have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- Basic safe working procedures to meet HSE guidelines on Transport Safety have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- A basic induction programme has been designed and implemented and is being regularly monitored and reviewed
- Introductory training modules in safe working procedures for the prevention of vehicle accidents, injuries and fatalities have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed.
Silver Certification
The ICON operator must be able to demonstrate that:
- “Proper arrangements” for full compliance with ‘O’ Licence undertakings have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- Comprehensive safe working procedures to meet HSE guidelines on Transport Safety have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- A comprehensive induction programme has been designed and implemented and is being regularly monitored and reviewed
- Regular training modules for the improvement of driving safety using the recommended safe working procedures for the prevention of vehicle accidents, injuries and fatalities have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed.
Gold Certification
The ICON operator must be able to demonstrate that:
- “Proper arrangements” for full compliance with‘O’ Licence undertakings have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- Comprehensive safe working procedures to meet HSE guidelines on Transport Safety have been designed and implemented and are being regularly monitored and reviewed
- A comprehensive induction programme has been designed and implemented and is being regularly monitored and reviewed.
- An annual training and in-cab test programme for the improvement of driving safety using the recommended safe working procedures for the prevention of vehicle accidents, injuries and fatalities has been designed and implemented and is being regularly monitored and reviewed.
